Tatsuo MORISATO

A World of Blue-and-White Porcelain Brought to Life with a Custom-Blended Gosu
Vibrant Glazes and Contemporary Forms

The charm of Morisato's pottery lies in the depth and richness created by gosu, the traditional cobalt-blue pigment.
Its subtle gradations, gentle bleeding, and soft brushstrokes give each piece a unique character, creating a quiet yet unmistakable presence.

Drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese motifs such as Asanoha (hemp leaf) and Seigaiha (blue ocean waves), Morisato reinterprets these classic patterns with a contemporary sensibility. Through carefully balanced lines and the thoughtful use of negative space, timeless designs are transformed into refined, modern expressions.

Beyond their beauty, Morisato's vessels are designed for everyday comfort. Their well-balanced forms and pleasant feel in the hand make them ideal for daily meals or a relaxing cup of coffee. Practical enough for everyday use, yet elegant enough to elevate any table setting, they offer a perfect balance between functionality and sophisticated design.
