Kenichi Koyama

Kenichi Koyama

Presence of monotone

The artist's aim was to "create vessels with a quiet and strong image," and he has established a style that exposes the stone surface and is clean, stylish, and unobtrusive in monochrome.
The "Kurosai" series is a true expression of Kenichi Koyama's style. A cracked, gauze-like upper layer is layered on top of a black base body and then fired.
The artist's unique style, known as black paint, creates modern and stylish works.
At first glance it may look rough, but when you actually hold it in your hand it is very easy to handle, and since it is semi-porcelain it is a durable piece of pottery.
