The Potential of Kakiotoshi (Sgraffito)

White slip is poured over the surface, then delicately carved away using a fine kakiotoshi (sgraffito) technique, creating pieces rich in warmth and character.
Motifs range from mythical creatures such as phoenixes and dragons to animals like cats and owls, resulting in playful and distinctive designs.
These are pieces that bring a smile, spark conversation, and add joy to everyday life—delightful to look at, hold, and use.
