Artist History

Takeyuki HORIOKA 堀岡岳之
Born in Kyoto in 1959
1983 Graduated from Kyoto Prefectural Ceramic Training School
1984 Completed the Ceramics Department at Kyoto Municipal Industrial Research Institute
1984 Studied under Takeichi Kawai and Toru Kawai
1989 Began independent creative practice
Selected for exhibitions including the Japan Traditional Crafts Kinki Exhibition,
Itami Craft Exhibition, Kanazawa Craft Competition, Takaoka Craft Exhibition, and others.
◎ Primarily responsible for wheel throwing and forming
Kosho HORIOKA 堀岡洸匠
Awarded the Kyoto Prefectural Governor’s Prize at the 15th Kyo-yaki
Kiyomizu-yaki Exhibition
Succeeded as the second-generation master under the name “Kosho”
Awarded the Chairman’s Prize of Kyoto Chuo Shinkin Bank at the 27th Kyo-yaki
Kiyomizu-yaki Exhibition
