What is Higashi Goro
The name "TOHGORO" was inspired by this historic neighborhood. The slope connecting Gojo-zaka and Kiyomizu-dera Temple is affectionately known as "Chawan-zaka" (Tea Bowl Hill), a place widely regarded as the birthplace of Kyoto-ware and Kiyomizu-ware.
